Team returns from assisting the Village of Dundee with disaster recovery:

On the morning of Sunday, June 6th, 2010, the village of Dundee was struck by an EF-2 tornado, with wind speeds up to 135 MPH, causing massive damage along it's path. Our team had the honor of working alongside the Officials, emergency services and residents of the Village, from June 8th to June 11th. The investment from the overwhelming number of volunteers was absolutely astounding. Twenty team members from the Huron Team contributed a total of 327 man/hours to the initial phase of the Dundee recovery effort.

We wish the entire Village and Township, especially the residents that were hardest hit, the best of luck with the completion of their recovery. The Village's community spirit is one of a kind. Good luck Dundee!

The US Citizen Corps was founded by the President of the United States in 2003. The idea behind the Citizen Corps is to enlist the help of all residents of the USA to assist our Government in keeping our country safe. CERT is a partner program of the Corps. It's ultimate goal is to teach all citizens how to be prepared for disasters, whether they be natural or man-made.

Trained CERT members can assist emergency service agencies with defined duties, when called upon by the appropriate emergency manager.

Please go to the "About Us" page to find out more information about our program.
